What does the role of production designer entail
 Is responsible for the overall luke of the production. the designe feel atmospher of it. would start with the director.
During a production, which other members of the production and which other areas of the production does the production designer co-ordinate with
 They would work with the director about the feel of the prodcution. talking about locations and sets with them. Also dissucse with the dop for lighting in the sets.This would depend one the project but if the writer is invloded with filming.
What issues with locations can occur during the production of a TV drama?
 Lots of looking for the location.  If they wanted something more realistice they would need to get to a place that looks like it but it could have lots of torists making things difficult. As well they wouldnt be able to close them so they have to work with the public working through. They had to cover lots of props because they were to delicate to move.
What skills, education and experience is it beneficial for a production designer to have?

District 9 case study

District 9   District 9 was campaigned in 2008 in San Diego comic con. With August 14 2009, in North America they earned over $210milllion on box office.  At the start Neill Blomkamp started to film ‘Halo’ they said they worked on it for 3 or 4 months but then the movie died. He then made lots of shorts of Halo and a lot of the things used in those shorts can be seen in District 9  Scene from Neill Blomkamp short film 'Halo' “We financed the development of it for the first six months independently… We wrote a screenplay that was more of a treatment than a screen play. We needed actors who could improve.” As you can see they have a lot of things needed to be done so they could get going and they didn’t get a lot of money right at the start.
