mind map of pre-production

  

 This task was to create a mind map about pre- production about media industry.

What I learned about how there are lots of other types of pre- production other than film and magazine.



This would help me in the future by showing lots of other industry’s ways of pre-production and what they would do.

This is about the different types of pre- production for all types of media for example music, film, . magazines and Newspapers. These all have requirements to be set up and to be successful.

District 9 case study

District 9   District 9 was campaigned in 2008 in San Diego comic con. With August 14 2009, in North America they earned over $210milllion on box office.  At the start Neill Blomkamp started to film ‘Halo’ they said they worked on it for 3 or 4 months but then the movie died. He then made lots of shorts of Halo and a lot of the things used in those shorts can be seen in District 9  Scene from Neill Blomkamp short film 'Halo' “We financed the development of it for the first six months independently… We wrote a screenplay that was more of a treatment than a screen play. We needed actors who could improve.” As you can see they have a lot of things needed to be done so they could get going and they didn’t get a lot of money right at the start. Applicants usually get in contact with BBC Films via an agent or individually, as a producer.  BFI: The BFI is the lead agency for film in the UK. The BFI Film Fund has a number of funding strands, investing over £26m of Lottery funds per year to support film development, production and distribution activity in the UK.
